Tai Chi - Classes

Tai Chi is for everyone, young or older.

Tai Chi movements have their origin in Chinese Martial Arts. To create Tai Chi as we know it today.

The original Martial movements were ‘softened’ and ‘slowed down’. This was the inspiration of a supreme Master of Martial Arts Yang Cheng Fu. His vision was to make the Chinese people stronger by encouraging daily exercise to promote health , and to gain better quality of life. He knew the importance of exercise and realized that the gentle flowing movements also promoted a calmative state of mind . He also realized that the less strenuous nature of Tai Chi movements suited the healthy as well as the less healthy. His dream was for the people of China to use exercise to prevent illness and for the country to be strong and prosperous. He wanted his people to be able to do daily exercise even at a advanced age . Tai Chi would become that exercise. Tai Chi can be thought of a breathing exercise, a muscle strengthening exercise and a exercise to promote improved postural and coordination, balance and stability. As important as all these obvious benefits Tai Chi has remarkable calming and meditative aspect Neal conducts his own Tai Chi classes for Beginners to Intermediate level of the Original Yang Style every Sunday morning in Centennial Park between 9-11am.
